Eminem’s publisher may get the money

Eminem’s publisher Eight Mile Style has filed a lawsuit against mega streaming giant Spotify for streaming music and not adequately paying up. A lawsuit filed in a Tennessee court alleges the streaming giant may not have compensated Eight Mile for streaming a 200 songs by various artists to include Eminem’s hit “Lose Yourself”.

The lawsuit reportedly seeks damages of $150,000 for each song listed with a combined total of over 30 million dollars. According to publicist; Dennis Dennehy, Eminem is not a party to this lawsuit. Interestingly enough Eight Mile owns the rights to Eminem’s early catalogue. Attorney Richard Busch who filed the lawsuit was also the same attorney who helped the family of Marvin Gaye in a lawsuit involving Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams some years ago.
